#49 -What sport(s) interested you, and how did you participate? If not, talk about another pastime.

As a kid, I enjoyed homecrafting. Cooking, cleaning and various crafts - sewing, gardening. Puzzles. Things like that. Plus it fits my personality. I'm a quiet, gentle and boring. I mean, patient. Patient isn't boring to me but it comes off that way to those who always need to 'be doing something important.' Idk, I'm just at the point where I have done too much today and am exhausted, while burdened with sarcasm. It's been a long day (even though it was a short work day) and I might be slightly emotional over issues I cannot change. Plus it really sucked driving around in 100 degree weather without AC in the car.

I can tell I'm not going to want to write so I'm going to go ahead and knock out a few of these daily prompts and give myself a headstart/break. Something. I love the idea of daily writing discipline but it also becomes burdensome. The whole point of this project is to capture that real life dynamic vs standardized modern journaling that looks like a AI template. A different communication approach. One that feels authentic while also explaining my complicated life - which is like improv maxed out due to all the unpredictable obstacles that I call my daily existence. I love improv but sometimes I'm like, "can I just direct the puppet show for once?" ~Yeah, I'm in a weird place tonight.

#75 - What story comes to mind when you hear the phrase, "rite of passage"?

8/22/25

I think of my own life and all the various rites of passage that I endured, crawled through. Those life lessons were valuable, even if I hated them at the time. I see it every day in my current life choices - especially now that I work with younger generations.

There's a problem if I cannot tell an adult's behavior from a toddler. And that happens. I'm probably more sensitive to it than others, because that's my job. And even I can admit after watching the toddlers tantrum - the desire to break stuff and wail around probably feels pretty good. We all have different ways to channel that though. So when I hear 'rite of passage' - my mind goes in this kind of direction. Wondering why adults continue to have toddler like tantrums.

#39 - "If I could relive one memory, just for fun, it would be…" Mention a detail for each of the five senses.

8/23/25

I wouldn't want to relive a memory. I'd want to relive a dream. I have extremely vivid and informational dreams. Nothing that great has happened in this lifetime. Not even close. And I realize that I'm not answering the prompt correctly but in my world, I can remember my dreams and it so it becomes a memory of remembering a dream. That's what I'd want to remember and relive. Okay, now I'm just going down a complex loop of logic. In those kinds of dreams, I've had additional new senses versus just five. Dreamworld senses. It's pretty awesome, and definitely encouraged me to be a writer. It calls me to return, jumping back into my imagination.

#137 - What new personal traditions did you start as a couple? Alternative: What traditions from childhood have you carried into your adult life?

8/23/25

Traditions as a couple...hmm, that would probably be not celebrate holidays and/or work over the holidays and special occasions. We're no longer married.

#83 - You saw this coming. It's time to all about your first love!

8/24/25

How about not? Some things are best left in the past.

#122 - Tell that funny anecdote you always bring up at parties.

8/25/25

Do adults attend parties? I'm a homebody workaholic. I do more than enough socializing at work. I don't have funny anecdotes. It's why I'm a sarcastic writer. Which brings me back to the first prompt today about sports. I recently attended an inservice which involved a ping pong tournament. I did not participate. I'm highly aversive to team building exercises. I'm working on this issue about myself but I'm now in my 40's and have not changed. I think it would have been more fun to help coach the kids through a ping pong tournament and all the ways they would have complicated that simple game. Autism is a blast. Honestly though - we have so many fun activities at work for the kids, all day every day is a team building exercise because it takes that much effort to pull it off.

I think it's difficult to narrow down ONE anecdote when I live in a world of extraordinary.

#149 - Describe a time when your attempt to help someone only made things worse.

8/26/25

Any day at work. Just kidding. I'm the mom figure. I work with much younger coworkers and actually am a mom to kids with severe disability so it gives me advantages when it comes to problem solving unique situations. I hear a lot of "wow, you just performed magic." Yeah, well my rites of passage taught me many things. Lol. Mostly, patience.

#84 -What role did you play in your social circle? Tell a story that shows how you fit into the group.

8/27/25

Wow, did I just skip ahead and accidentally answer this prompt with the earlier one? Let's go with it. Yeah.

I've knocked out more of these prompts than I first thought I would. What, a week? You know what - I looked at the forecast and it's going to be in the 70's in August. Like, I have to be outside and enjoy this gift.

I'm hoping this helps with my current burnout. Here's to a better week,
