#30 - The most memorable family holiday was… |
I'm guessing this is referring to my own childhood. In that case - one stands out more than most and that was when my dad, his brother and sister - my grandparents, all still got along and we had a Thanksgiving together. It was filled with so many unique little events and we were all crammed in my aunt's mobile home as she was the one hosting. I don't remember the year but she was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and I was just learning about football. She made tamales. It irritated my dad who only wanted traditional turkey food, which was also provided. My family is full of stubborn opinioned people.
I remember all the smells and everything about that day. Little dogs running around. She had those tiny adorable dogs, some kind of terrier. Yorkshire Terrier. https://www.britannica.com/animal/Yorkshire-Terrier-dog
Wish I had more to reflect back on but I'm not a nostalgic/holiday person. Idk, I'm more of a new adventure type of person. Longing after memories in the past keeps you from making new ones. At least that's been my experience.
It was a long day. Think I'm going to paint and see if that helps me relax.
