#163 - Where did/do you go to temporarily escape your daily life, and why were you drawn there? Describe the place using all five senses. |
First off, escaping is why I became a writer but I think this prompt is referring to a physical location. However in my life, I was significantly restricted from having physical freedom. As a child, it was due to church activities. As an adult it was due to caregiving duties. When free time did appear? I made the best of it. I'm an active person. I can squeeze more tasks into a day than most. I'm always on some kind of mini-mission where I carve out time for myself or else it disappears. I feel that pressure, intensely. It gives me cues. Hard to describe. I have a powerful active imagination. My escape is typically into the mind/spirit and I'm multitasking. But physical escapes exist for me as well. I enjoy tying in natural environments to exercise, resetting my nerves, balancing the pressure/pain.
I love eating outdoors. I go on picnics. It makes me feel better.
I'm sorry I was going to post pictures and go into further depth but today was exhaustive. I'm currently on 15+ hours of nonstop weather - severe storms, flash floods, driving through destruction and emotional storms (tantrums) from clients and people around me. I'm just done.
